Do you yearn to be on stage taking part in Mamma Mia, but fear you 'aren't good enough'? Think again and take heart.
"What we need are newcomers, that would be lovely. Especially some young men," said director Gayle Cameron.
"There are good, fun minor roles in the show. Or if they want to be in the ensemble, they are very, very welcome. They don't have to be brilliant singers or dancers; if they can move on the dancefloor or sing in the shower they are more than welcome."

What you do need is to know what the show is about. Gayle suggests potential cast members make themselves familiar with the stage version of Mamma Mia and not just the movie, as the two productions are different in character.
She also advises you research the particular character you want to audition for and develop that character. Notes on characters are included in the audition package downloadable from the Taree Arts Council website.
Of special note is accents - while one male lead role specifies an American accent, and another a broad Australian accent, Gayle would prefer people auditioning for the female leads brush up on a more English sound.
However, "Mix it up and decide what you want it to be!" Gayle said.

"I'd like the women more English than with an Aussie accent. If they're doing an English accent - as a country accent, northern, or London - whatever it may be - at least round the vowels a little bit. It's just softer on the ear," Gayle said.
That Arts Council would like people auditioning to be enthusiastic, energetic, happy people.
"Because it's that sort of show," Gayle said.
"I want people who are enthusiastic, but at the same time are willing to be dedicated cast members, because it's four months of rehearsals, then another month of being at the Entertainment Centre. People have to be aware of the amount of commitment required."
The only absolute requirement is that you must be aged 15 or over to audition. There is no upper limit - more 'mature' people, no matter what age, could be included in the ensemble.
"I'm sure we can fit them into the village square or whatever! There is always someone we cut put in if they have a great voice," Gayle said.
