There is no restriction on who can enter and children in particular are encouraged to take part. Organiser Louise Green believes it is a valuable experience for children to enter and have their works exhibited.
Entries close at 5pm on Wednesday, April 14.
The exhibition, which supports the community hall, was first held in 2019 and was intended to be an annual event, however the COVID-19 pandemic meant its cancellation in 2020.
The exhibition is open 10am to 4pm on the Saturday and 10am to 3pm Sunday. It will be officially opened at 11am on May 1 by Federal MP David Gillespie. Refreshments will be available from the hall kitchen.
Judging is by people's choice and the winners will be announced at 2.30pm on May 2, with State MP Leslie Williams attending the presentation of prizes.
This year there are six sections for artists of any age - junior, youth and adult. This could be something for the children to get some artwork done during the school holidays.
A: Junior seven years and under - any subject in any medium.
B: Junior eight to 12 years - any subject in any medium.
C: Youth 13 to 18 years - any subject in any medium.
D: Local scene - (Manning, Great Lakes and Hastings areas) in any medium.
E. Equine subject - depicting the horse in any medium.
F: Open subject - in any medium.
Prize money will be awarded to the winners of each class. Louise thanked their year's prize donors and sponsor and said they will be looking for more sponsorship for the 2022 exhibit.
Paintings or drawings may be in acrylic, oil, watercolour, mixed media, pastel, pencil, crayon, charcoal, pen or ink, and paper tole is also accepted.
Works must be framed, ready to hang with suitable wire and D rings attached to the back. Artworks are restricted to 80 cm x 80 cm. Entry fees for junior sections $2, youth $3, senior $5 per entry.
Entries can be delivered to the hall between 10am and 3pm on Wednesday, April 28 or freighted, or contact Louise or Rhonda Hardes.
