Snapper have been caught on the southern grounds off Old Bar while Spanish mackerel have been caught on live bait up around Mermaid Reef. Tailor have also been taken near Mermaid on metal lures.
On the beaches, good choppers have been caught on Crowdy Beach above Second Creek.
Third creek is still running due to the excessive amount of water in the Crowdy Bay National Park.
I have not seen so much water in the park in my lifetime.
The road from Crowdy Head to Coralville is almost impossible to travel, with water up to 60cm deep in patches. It is a scary drive at night time.
The luderick have turned up at Diamond Head on the south side of the headland. Fresh yabbie baits at night will take these fish.
In the river, bream and flathead are still on the bite. The bream catches will get better as they school up prior to the morning.
The flathead are moving back up stream and as the river clears will be plentiful in the Lansdowne and Upper Cundletown bridge.
No mulloway have turned up in the estuary yet and will need plenty of schools of bait fish entering the river to bring them in.
