The result of the photo didn't matter too much to the dominant Kris Lees stable as the other galloper in the outcome was his mare Siesta Key.
Both gallopers won easily at the club's last TAB meeting on December 20 but it was the three-year-old filly No Laughing Matter which scored by four lengths that came in for the solid backing on Monday, firming from $2.30 to start at $1.40.
It had the services of Sydney jockey Brenton Avdulla, specially chosen for the mount by Lees, whereas the filly's jockey on December 20 was apprentice Dylan Gibbons, the rider of Sister Key this time, it easing from $6.50 to $12.
It was a busy finish down the straight, Avdulla saying he wasn't sure if he had won, third going to another Newcastle galloper, The Borough, trained by Paul Perry.
Best of the locals was the fourth by Maid Marilyn, trained at Port Macquarie by John Sprague, which had been accepted for Port's abandoned meeting due to rain on Friday.
Lees stable foreman Lucas Miller said No Laughing Matter was an upcoming filly which grows another leg in the wet whereas Siesta Key was in good form since coming down from Queensland.
Despite the heavy 10 track, the first six races went ahead but a storm led to the last race being abandoned after the runners were sent back to their stalls from the saddling enclosure.
Leading jockey Andrew Gibbons gave praise to the track under the conditions which led to 46 scratchings.
He made the comments after booting home Wyong three-year-old gelding Too Good To Be Tru ($3.30), trained by Damien Lane, in the Country Colours- Harrington Handicap over 1250m.
Gibbons said the gelding, only having its second start, had a good form line from a trial and despite doing a few things wrong it had "a future".
Visiting trainers again won all the races, Newcastle trainer Jason Deamer, having a winning double with possibly his best chance Lochita not getting a run as it was in the abandoned race.
His first winner was four-year-old gelding Findellee ($2.90), ridden by Christian Reith, originally an emergency until scratchings, in the Arrest A Life-Harrington Maiden over 1000m.
Findellee had a wind operation in July and it "made a difference to its present form,"Deamer said.
"He shied at the television screen but still had enough to hold on for the win," he said.
The combinations other winner was three-year-old filly Loose Buttons ($2.45) which scored by a length in the Nate's Pizzeria Plate Handicap over 1400m.
The well-bred galloper, by Zoustar out of Sunday Rose, sold for $620,000 as a yearling but was then sold on at the Gold Coast Sales for around $45,000.
"That was its fifth start and now she will go for a spell," Deamer added.
Four-year-old Scone gelding Noble Cause ($3.30) made it two wins at the track for trainer Todd Howlett and jockey Grant Buckley in the Harrington Crowdy Plate over 2000m.
"The good barrier made the difference as he can do a lot of things wrong," Howlett said.
Some good bets were landed ($4.80 to $3) with three-year-old gelding Superior Witness, trained by Luke Thomas and ridden by Raymond Spokes, scoring by just under a length in The Professionals Harrington Handicap over 1000m.
Thomas said the gelding's two wins in a row showed it had settled down and "is developing into a racehorse."
Racing return to Taree on Monday, January 11 for another TAB meeting.
