Opening tomorrow, Friday December 18, the exhibition will run through to Saturday, February 13.
Gallery director Rachel Piercy says it's one not to be missed.
"The exhibition features an array of textures, materials and immersive experiences and we're so glad that we can welcome people back in to the gallery for this one because it really needs to be seen in person," she said.
"It's a truly beautiful exhibition and it's amazing to see what can be created using textiles."
The Tamworth Textile Triennial is held every three years and showcases the best of textile art from across the country, attracting artist participation from all states in Australia.
Tension(s) 2020 has been curated by Vic McEwan, creating an important record of the changing nature and progress of textile practice from a national perspective.
"Every artist has a story to tell and more than 20 artists are featured so you really get a broad perspective of all those different voices," Rachel said.
"We hope to see lots of locals and tourists taking the opportunity to experience this wonderful exhibition while it's here."
