The Knox family has constructed the display at their Wandarra Street home for the past five years to raise funds for Make-A-Wish Australia.
The charity's logo lights up the night sky on the roof of the house and is ably supported by a myriad of Christmas lights and inflatable Santas, trees and reindeer.
Images of Santa, his elves and snowmen are also projected onto the windows and roof. Ciara Knox said the family was inspired to create the display following a call out for fundraising by Make-A-Wish Australia.
"We saw an ad in the paper about the foundation doing some fundraising," Ciara recalled.
"And we've put Christmas lights up for years so we thought that could help raise some money."
Donations are collected in a wishing well outside the home. Ciara said fundraising so far this year is on par with efforts from 2019. Although the global pandemic has caused financial headaches, people are still willing to donate. Santa's Letterbox has been a hit with young children.
"We started it last year after I purchased a metal box and I thought that would be perfect for the letters," Ciara said.
"The kids come and drop a letter off and then they get a printed 'Santa's nice list' certificate which they collect the next day."
The display is installed in mid-November, to recognise the passing of her father-in-law Adrian.
"One of the final things he said to us was 'you better keep doing the Christmas lights or I'll come back to haunt you'," she smiled.
Wet weather last week caused a bit of havoc for the inflatable Santa and snowmen. It also forced the projections to be temporarily switched off. But that hasn't stopped people showing up in droves.
"It's good fun, people travel from all over the area to have their Christmas photos taken in the front yard," Ciara said.
If you can't get along to have a look before Christmas, don't worry. It will still be up until the first week of the new year. Visit the Wandarra St Christmas Lights Facebook page to follow the progress or make a donation.
