After a tumultuous 2020 and a season of shows that had to be cancelled in March, The MEC is thrilled to be announcing the new season program for January to June 2021. "With the recent announcement last week that we can increase our capacity to 75%, we hope everyone in the MidCoast region can Make it to the MEC in 2021", said Chris Tippett, Theatre Manager.

It's a veritable smorgasbord of entertainment, showcasing comedy, dance, film and a variety of music. The new program will kick off on 5 Feb with The Rock Show Oz Edition. The Trilogy of Rock band with Steve Mulry from the Ted Mulry Gang, are honouring the late Aussie rock icon, John English with an outstanding Oz rock repertoire. The legendary Ian Moss's Matchbook Anniversary Tour returns on 27 Feb and the iconic John Williamson returns, there are shows to appeal to all ages. There is electric dance with A Taste of Ireland returning and the musically daring and expressive Grigoryan Brothers.
"The diversity in the acts we've managed to secure over the next six months is something really special," said Chris "We're always looking to provide a greater range of acts, that are all of the highest quality and this really does that." Other highlights include Australian piano sensation Jayson Gillham and The Melbourne International Comedy Festival returns on 24 June. The MEC will once again be the venue for the popular Taree & District Eisteddfod across April till June.
The new season program is a digital program for the first time. This ensures it can be updated quickly if new shows are confirmed throughout the season, with many productions still finalising arrangements due to these uncertain times.
