Outside angling has been possible in the morning but it is very uncomfortable as the wind springs up.
Snapper, flathead, pearl perch and bonito have been boated in the past week.
Crowdy beach is very narrow and even at low tide care must be taken so that soft spots can be avoided.
On high tide there are several places where the water is up to the wall at the back of the beach and this can trap unwary travellers.
The beach has one big gutter to Diamond Head with only one good fishing spot south of Abbey's Creek.
There are no birds present on the beach except at Diamond Head, so that would be the best place to spin for a tailor.
RELATED:
Tailor, bream and snapper have been caught from the seawall at Harrington. The estuary has produced bream and flathead. Some anglers have reported good catches of whiting on surface poppers and worm bait on the rising tide.
There should be some good fishing conditions next week.
