About 4am on Sunday, November 22, officers stopped a vehicle, driven by a 30-year-old Tumbi Umbi man, on Manning River Drive, Glenthorne.
The driver returned a positive result to a roadside breath test. He was arrested and taken to Taree Police Station where he returned a 0.104 reading to another breath analysis.
The man was charged with mid-range drink driving and will face Taree Local Court on December 15.
About noon on Sunday, November 22, police stopped a 52-year-old man riding a motorcycle on Florence Street, Taree.
The Taree rider returned a positive result to a roadside breath test. He was arrested and taken to Taree Police Station and returned a 0.050 reading to another breath analysis.
Officers conducted further checks into the man's licence and the motorcycle. The checks revealed his learner's licence was disqualified until October 2068 and the motorcycle had been unregistered since June 30 this year.
The rider was charged with low range drink driving. disqualified driving, using an unregistered vehicle and using an uninsured vehicle.
He was refused bail and faced Taree Local Court on Monday, November 23.
Officers stopped a speeding vehicle on the Pacific Highway at Nabiac about 1.40pm on Saturday, November 21.
The vehicle was stopped and the driver, a 44-year-old Swansea man, returned a positive result to a roadside breath test.
He was arrested and taken to Nabiac Police Station where he returned a 0.081 reading to a secondary breath analysis.
He was charged with mid-range drink driving and exceeding the speed limit by more than 10 km/h. The driver will face Forster Local Court on January 13.
At 11.55pm that night, a 21-year-old Glenthorne man was pulled over by officers on Old Bar Road.
After he stopped the vehicle, the man got out and allegedly said to the officers "you got me, I don't have a licence".
Inquiries revealed his licence was disqualified. He was charged with disqualified driving to face Taree Local Court on December 15.
About 11.20pm on Friday, November 20, a 38-year-old man was stopped on Wallis Street, Tuncurry, in relation to his manner of driving.
The Tuncurry man returned a positive result to a roadside breath test after police detected a smell of alcohol.
He was arrested and taken to Forster Police Station and returned a 0.144 reading. Checks also revealed the man was a disqualified driver.
He was charged with mid-range drink driving and disqualified driving to face Forster Local Court on January 13.
Meanwhile, a four month high visibility operation at the NSW/ Victorian border came to an end on Monday, November 23.
Many Manning Great Lakes Police District officers were part of the operation to stem the flow of traffic between the states due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
