Bonito were also caught on the troll.
The best snapper results have come from the northern ground around Mermaid Reef.
On the beaches tailor and salmon are still biting well and drummer have been taken from the rocks at Crowdy Head.
In the estuary bream and flathead are biting and some nice whiting have been landed on the surface poppers.
To get the best results on poppers you must fish where there are no disturbances, like boats, swimmers and dogs.
Any unnecessary splashes or noises will put the whiting bite down.
Some big female flathead over 80 cm have been landed in the estuary and were returned to the water after a photo was taken.
