The upcoming workshops are back by popular demand focusing on good gut health, with a three part series of Sourdough Workshops and a Beetroot Kvass and Sauerkraut making workshop.
The free online events provide fun and interesting ways to make easy and small tweaks to our lives, that together can have big benefits for personal health.
Lydia Irving from Internal Instinct will lead the workshops on how to make sourdough on Wednesday November 18 at 6pm for the first workshop: how to make a starter from scratch and how to keep it alive.
On Wednesday November 25 at 6pm Lydia will lead you through the kneading and theory of the fermentation process, and finally on Thursday November 26 at 6pm the workshop will focus on the the baking process. Find out all the benefits of sourdough for good gut health.
Beetroot and cabbages are two very easy vegetables to grow yourself - but what do you do with large harvests? Join Lydia on Thursday November 19 at 6pm for a workshop on how to make a natural probiotic - beetroot kvass. In the same workshop, Lydia will also take you on a sauerkraut-making journey.
Sauerkraut is the perfect condiment to add thrilling flavours. You can make sauerkraut as simple or complex as your culinary skills extend. The base ingredients are just cabbage and salt.
"We're proud to again be partnering with Lydia to deliver these workshops and helping to encourage healthier, but delicious, habits in the home," said Chris Jones, Manager Libraries.
Demand is high for places in these workshops and bookings are essential so get in quick.
