OUTSIDE fishing has been fairly quiet due to the north easterly and southerly winds, although snapper are still on the bite in close as are flathead on the drift.

It is a different scene on the beaches. Tailor, salmon, bream and whiting have been caught in numbers.
Lures, pilchards and bonito strips will take tailor while lures, pilchards, squid, mullet and bonito strips will do for salmon. Worms are the top bait for whiting and bream with yabbies the next best.
There are still a few drummer being caught from the rocks and if you can find a few red crabs then groper are a chance.
A few big female flathead are showing up in the estuary. If you catch one of these please handle carefully and release. Bream are biting well from around the oyster racks and rocks upstream as well as from the river wall and the wall at Manning Point, with yabbies the best bai
