Tomorrow Thursday, October 22 from 5pm for the next 12 hours, residents are encouraged to use one bucket of water - no taps, no showers, no running water at all, except for COVIDSafe and religious use.
"Water Night" - Thursday October 22 - highlights the theme for Water Week 2020, "Reimagining Our Water Future".
"Do you know how many times a day you reach for your taps? Well, Water Night is the perfect opportunity for you to find out," council's director of infrastructure and engineering services Rob Scott said.
It's never been more important to work together to build awareness around the value of water
- MidCoast Council's Rob Scott
Following on from one of the driest years on record for the Mid Coast, it's never been more important to work together to build awareness around the value of water, council's director of infrastructure and engineering services Rob Scott said.
"We are very fortunate to have a clean and overall reliable source of water that supplies our communities and we continue to work to improve our water accessibility into the future, should we ever go through another drought like we did in 2019," Rob said.
"We should all consider how we can rethink our current water practices to help conserve valuable water resources and what we can do as both individuals and communities to inspire a more sustainable water future."

Young Mid Coast residents will be getting the water-wise message too, as Whizzy the Waterdrop tours some local schools and preschools over the next two weeks to spread the water-wise message.
Water Week is all about inspiring individuals, communities and organisations to work together to build awareness around the value of water.
