Now he's looking forward to 2021.
However, there will be a change to the 2021 lineup. Hook and Mike Di Meglio will be joined by a new team-mate.
The pair rode the final event of the year, the 12 hours of Estroril at Portugal back-to-back as the third rider, Freddy Foray, was struggling.
"Obviously we couldn't keep doing that, so there'll be a new rider next year,'' Hook said.
The opening two rounds were disastrous for FCC TSR Honda and they looked out of contention for honours, a fact Hook acknowledged before leaving for Europe when the championship resumed after the COVID-19 lockdown.
"We were virtually on zero points,'' he said.
However, a win at the Le Mans 24 hour turned around their season.
"We maximised the points there,'' Hook said, explaining they were in the lead at all the critical points in the race, 8, 12 and 24 hours.''
"That was a big step for us as a couple of the other teams didn't go so well, so suddenly we were in with a chance of finishing on the podium at the end of the championship.''

However, he added that realistically his team was never a hope of claiming the title as the leaders had too big a points cushion. Hook and Di Meglio finished third at Portugal and that was good enough to give them third overall. Hook said that was a pleasing result given their early-season travails.
Suzuki Endurance Team won on 167.5 points. FCC TSR Honda finished with 143.5. Hook also contested the MotoE for the second year. This is a championship for electric motorcycles.
He's had a few problems in the class, but gained his best result in the final round at Le Mans, finishing with fourth and third placings from two races to gain third overall and a spot on the podium.
"Le Mans is a track I know well and I've done a lot of laps there, so that helped. It was only a few weeks after we'd raced there in the endurance round,'' Hook said.
"So it was good to get on the podium. We finished seventh overall in the championship and were only a point of fifth, so that's not bad.''
However, he's not sure if he'll ride in the MotoE next year.
"My focus is on the endurance,'' he explained.
"The (endurance) calendar hasn't been finalised yet, they're still working it out with the COVID restrictions. And it could change.
"So it will depend on how the year looks before I make a decision on the MotoE.''
Hook will work on his fitness, ride motocross and fish during the summer while he awaits word on when racing will start in 2021.
"It's a bit difficult because I don't know when I'll be racing again,'' he said.
"It's a bit like when we were in lockdown earlier this year waiting for racing to start again.''
However, first he has to complete his time in quarantine.
He'd only just started when he spoke to the Times.
Hook can't leave his motel room.
"I can't even open a window,'' he said.
All his food is delivered to the door and he has no physical contact with anyone.
"I'm only 10 hours in,'' he said,
"It's going to be a long couple of weeks.''
