The plan, which has been prepared by an independent heritage consultant, is on public exhibition.
It will inform the restoration process that MidCoast Council will undertake to repair the headstones / grave markers damaged during July 2019 as a result of a maintenance program that was incorrectly implemented.
Since the damage occurred, council has been working through a process to restore the headstones / grave markers in a way that will retain the heritage values of the cemetery.
In preparing the plan, consultant Umwelt Pty Ltd also engaged a local historian to research the history of the cemetery.
All those who have registered as an impacted family member have been provided with copies of both the draft conservation management plan and a revised restoration action plan for review and feedback.
Both documents are also available on council's website for members of the community to review and provide comment before 5pm on Friday, November 27, 2020.
