Good snapper and flathead are being caught from the close in grounds along with pearl perch.
On the beach tailor, bream, whiting and salmon are biting well. The southern end of Crowdy beach is best for whiting and bream.
Tailor and salmon are taking lures and baits on pilchards, mullet and bonito.
Bream and flathead are biting best in the river. The flathead are moving down to the mouth of the estuary to spawn. They will become more plentiful as spawning time arrives. The big female flathead start to spawn around the end of December and continue into January and February.
Usually by the end of March there are few big females in the lower part of the river.
No mulloway have been sighted but they should be around by the time the moon becomes full.
