The association is considering using the Jack Neal Oval as the venue.
"We have to be off the fields at Taree Recreation Ground by the end of February because council will be starting maintenance on them,'' Taree Touch president Graham Goodwin explained.
"So we're thinking about using the Jack Neal Oval.''
Mixed grades are usually played on Monday nights.
The 2020/21 mixed season started on Monday night, with 26 teams involved.
"With what's happened this year with COVID, I'm pretty happy with the numbers,'' Mr Goodwin said.
"And we might get a couple of late nominations.''
He said games will be played until December 14 when the competition goes into recess, returning in late January.
Junior grand finals are also scheduled for December 14.
Mr Goodwin admits the response to the open men's competition has been disappointing. Games were supposed to start on Wednesday this week, but this has been postponed. He'll contact the teams involved to see if they want to proceed.
"Everyone seems happier to play mixed these days,'' Mr Goodwin said, a far cry from the days when the Taree men's competition would attract nearly 50 teams in summer.
