Pam received life membership to the University of the Third Age (U3A) at a Manning Valley branch meeting on Monday, October 12.
She was recognised for her service and outstanding commitment to the members, programs and activities of the Manning Valley branch, specifically the U3A choir the Silver Tones Singers.
Pam was the founding musical director when the Silver Tones began in October 2009.
Under her guidance, singers of all abilities were welcomed and included in programs and performances.
She developed the confidence and competency of the choir from singing as one to as many as four parts.
The choir performed at many events such as Manning Winter Festival, Bonnie Wingham Scottish Festival and Remembrance Day and makes frequent visits to retirement villages.
Not bad for a choir that started with 31 members and more than doubled over time.
Pam was instrumental in creating two concerts to raise funds for local charities. These are held annually at various venues in the area.
Since 2014, they have raised $18,060. Those to benefit from the concerts include Manning Base Hospital's children's ward, Can Assist, Push 4 Palliative, women's refuges, Homeless Support Service and Manning Uniting Church welfare programs.
The performances and donations also enhanced the status of U3A in the Manning.
Pam retired from the choir in March 2020.
The passionate music educator has contributed to many initiatives and activities in the Manning Valley.
For decades, Pam was a music teacher at high and primary schools. Here she worked with many schools, performers and productions.
She had a long association with Taree Arts Council and acted as an accompanist for many choirs.
