In a tragic start to the school holidays, a woman and a young child have died following a crash on Thunderbolts Way, Nowendoc on Saturday, September 26.

About 12.20pm Saturday, emergency services were called to Thunderbolts Way, following reports of a collision between a 4WD towing a camper trailer and sedan.
The driver and sole occupant of the sedan, a woman aged in her 70s, died at the scene.
The 4WD driver, a 41-year-old man, and his passengers, a woman, aged 48, two boys, aged nine and 11, and two girls, aged two and four, were all treated at the scene by police and NSW Ambulance paramedics, before being taken to John Hunter Hospital.
The four-year-old girl was airlifted by Westpac Rescue Helicopter; however, she was declared deceased on arrival at John Hunter Hospital.
Officers from Oxley Police District and the Traffic and Highway Patrol Command established a crime scene, which will be examined by specialist police from the Crash Investigation Unit.
Investigations are continuing.
