About 1.40pm on Sunday, September 6, police stopped a vehicle on Cornwall Street, Taree.
As police approached the vehicle the driver, a 30-year-old Nabiac man, and the passenger, a 27-year-old Wingham man, were moving suspiciously.
When spoken to, the driver allegedly admitted to having cannabis and cannabis seeds in his pocket. The passenger was spoken to and allegedly admitted to attempting to hide cannabis in the footwell of the vehicle.
The vehicle was searched and the drugs were seized by police. The men were charged with possession of prohibited drugs and will face Taree Local Court on October 13.
About 1.50pm on Tuesday, September 8, a 42-year-old Windale man was driving on Muldoon Street, Taree.
The learner driver, driving the vehicle with red P plates, was stopped and returned a negative result to a roadside breath test.
He then submitted a drug test which allegedly returned a positive result to cannabis. The driver admitted to being a regular user of cannabis.
A police search of the vehicle then allegedly revealed a pocket knife in the glovebox. The man was taken to Taree Police Station where he allegedly tested positive to cannabis for a second time.
His licence was confiscated and was charged with having a knife in a public place and being an unaccompanied learner driver.
He will face Taree Local Court on November 17. Police are awaiting the results of the drug test analysis.
About 7.30pm on Tuesday, September 8, police stopped a vehicle on High Street, Taree.
As police approached the vehicle, a strong smell of cannabis was detected emanating from the vehicle.
The vehicle was searched and numerous drug paraphernalia items and prohibited drugs were allegedly located, such as cannabis, scales, snap lock plastic bags, a pipe, cash, and methylamphetamine.
Officers arrested a 34-year-old Wingham man and a 41-year-old Wingham woman and transported them to Taree Police Station. Both declined to be interviewed.
The man was charged with drug possession and will face Taree Local Court on October 20.
The woman was refused bail and charged with supplying prohibited drugs and goods in custody. She faced Forster Local Court on Wednesday, September 9.
About 4am on Saturday, September 5, police stopped a vehicle on Head Street, Forster.
The driver, a 23-year-old West Haven man, and the passenger, a 30-year-old West Haven woman, were spoken to by police.
The woman allegedly provided police with an incorrect name and after further investigation her correct identity was found.
She was arrested once police discover she had a first instance warrant.
Following a search of the vehicle, officers located cannabis which was allegedly owned by the man. He was charged with drug possession and will face Forster Local Court on October 28.
The woman was charged with the warrant and faced Forster Local Court on Wednesday, September 9.
