The crafty residents have put their decades of knitting experience to good use to provide a little extra comfort for seriously-ill children who are away from home.
Thanks to a partnership with Ronald McDonald House Charities® Australia, residents have donated more than 200 hand-crafted beanies, teddies and blankets over the past three years.
Ingenia Gardens Taree resident, Vera Fieldhouse said Ronald McDonald House was a great charity and one she loved being able to offer her help to.

"I have been knitting for charities both here in Australia and overseas for the past nine years and being able to get together with the rest of the knitting group and make something special for a seriously-ill child or their family is a wonderful feeling," Vera said.
"The little knitted beanies are my favourite to make, especially with colourful yarn - I really do hope whoever they are given to is able to enjoy them and it makes them feel just a little bit better.
"I really enjoy getting together with the rest of the community to have a chat and a cuppa while we knit our teddies and beanies, we are all such good friends."
Ingenia Gardens Taree community manager Amanda Howton said residents loved using their knitting skills and experience to help others in need.
"Most of our residents have been knitting for decades and this worthy cause provided the ideal opportunity to put their talents to good use," Ms Howton said.
"Knitting has significant benefits for residents, with many seeing an increase in their dexterity, improvement in their hand-eye coordination and an extended range of motion in their fingers and wrists."
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the knitters have not been able to personally deliver their items as they have over the past two years, however they continue to knit bears, beanies and blankets and look forward to delivering them to Ronald McDonald House Newcastle in the future.
