The club's next meeting will be on its regular third Tuesday of each month, August 18 from 10am at the Railway Bowling Club, High Street, Taree (members please note the new venue).
Due to COVID19 restrictions, morning tea cannot be served, coffee and tea available, members will be required to join the bowling club for $5.50, as members only are permitted in clubrooms. Social distancing will apply.
It would seem from conversations that members have been busy catching up on house and garden maintenance, general cleaning cupboards and drawers, crosswords, jigsaws, puzzles, reading and regularly staying in touch with family and friends, during these few months of what is the new normal.
Taree Probus farewelled a valued member, Bob Pearson, who died from a stroke.
Bob was a well loved active member. He was inducted to the club at the January meeting 2016. During his membership, in 2017 he was elected program officer, and for a six month period filled the role of activities officer. A friend to all, so easy going, Bob made friends easy, gave regular talks, introduced or thanked many guest speakers and was a sure starter, with his wife Jo, at all activities. He will be sadly missed.
Members extended their condolences to Jo at this sad time.
Also other members are in failing heath and are moving to be with family outside the area. The club wishes them well in their recovery .
New members would be most welcome to join with us to experience what Probus has to offer.
If you are interested, come along on August 18, or you can phone president Peter on 6556 1055 or secretary Tony on 6552 4284 for further details.
