The school is participating in the Oz Harvest Feast Program this term.
The program forms part of the school's STEM and English curriculum this term as students learn problem solving, design and production skills, collaboration, communication, procedural texts, and important life skills.
The program is by Oz Harvest, Australia's leading food rescue organisation, to help raise awareness about reducing food waste, food insecurity and the importance of healthy eating.
Colour Run
This term sees the return of the Colour Run being held at Lansdowne School.
The school's first Colour Run was held last year and was a major success. The staff and students look forward to another great experience this year.
The Colour Run will take place on Thursday, September 24.
At this stage it will look slightly different from last year. Due to COVID-19 restrictions the students will not be able to invite family and friends to join them. Principal Wendy hopes that this may change as it gets closer to the event.
Sponsorship forms will be sent home very soon so you can start getting sponsors and earning some great prizes. If anyone in the community would like to sponsor the students, please contact the school on 6556 7147 for a sponsorship form.
September 24 is going to be a busy day for the Lansdowne School because they will also be holding their sports athletics carnival on that day.
Education Week/Book Fair
Lansdowne School will be combining celebrations for Education Week and Book Fair in Week 5.
Again, these celebrations will be restricted to students only as they cannot have parents attend due to COVID-19.
There will be a book character parade on Thursday, August 20. Students can wear a costume from home.
Photos and video of the parade will be posted on Facebook for parents and families to enjoy.
There will also be a Book Fair in the library on this day. Students will have the opportunity to look at the books on display leading up to the Book Fair and create a wish list of what they would like to purchase.
Garden fundraiser
Lansdowne School Parents and Citizens Association is helping the Year 6 students with a garden fundraiser.
