Gloucester artist Christopher Steele's latest exhibition is an homage to his university days, as he revisits a practice he discovered during his masters research.

"I came to a point in my practice where I realised there are things I can do by hand that I can't do with a computer and there are things I can do with a computer that I can't do by hand, so I decided to extend the boundaries of mark making, which was the focus for my masters," Christopher said.
Essence, which opened recently at the Gloucester Gallery, is a recently created body of work which continues his exploration of the integration of analogous mark making combined with digital media.
The exhibition runs to Sunday, August 9 at the Gloucester Gallery, 25 Denison Street.
Women artists are in the spotlight at Manning Regional Art Gallery. The latest exhibition, Women Artists from the Collection, features about 30 works curated from MidCoast Council's collection, some dating as far back as the 1950s.
Some works haven't been on show in the 22 years assistant gallery director Jane Hosking has worked at the gallery.
Women Artists from the Collection is on show until September 20. The gallery, located in Macquarie Street, Taree, is currently open Tuesday to Saturday 10am to 5pm.
The Tea Gardens Farmers Market is on Saturday, August 1 from 8am to 1pm at the Tea Gardens Hotel.
