DEFENDING premiers Red Rovers prepared for next Saturday's grand final replay against Port Macquarie with a solid 30-0 win over a determined Lake Cathie side in the Group Three Junior Rugby League under 15 encounter at Taree Recreation Centre.
The Rovers now have one win from two matches this season. In the first round Rovers struggled to come to terms with the four quarter format required in junior league this year under COVID-19 guidelines.
However, they produced some good free flowing football against Lake Cathie.
Five-eighth Connor Latham was sharp in attack for Rovers, running in two tries in a player of the match performance.
Skipper Blair Hamilton was strong while Ty Wallace continues to improve.
Saturday's game against the Sharks will be played at Wood Street, Port Macquarie.
