The prolific animator directed the music video for 'Learn to Fly', a collaboration between Surfaces and Sir Elton John.
Mr Dixon was also credited for the storyboard, character designs and co-creator of the animations.
The video was uploaded to YouTube on July 17 and has attracted more than 145,000 views.
The song, released in June, is fitting considering the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. The main message is to keep a positive outlook on life even through hard times.
In his youth, Ivan was educated at Old Bar Public School and Taree High School.
He would go on to form Rubber House, an animation studio with Paul Robertson which is based in Sydney and Melbourne.
A major claim to fame was the creation of the opening sequence for an episode of The Simpsons in 2015.
He continues to create hand-drawn animations for commercials, music videos and games for the likes of Cartoon Network, Disney and Warner Brothers.
In recent times, Ivan has worked on music videos for Childish Gambino and Gotye.
