Due to COVID-19, this year's festival will be screened online on Sunday, August 23 together with a number of filmmaker Q&As and awards announcements.
Far South Film is based in the southern region of New South Wales but is keen to see stories from regional filmmakers around the country. It aims to make the film festival being an annual event, held on the fourth Sunday of August.
Films will be accepted in two length categories: under 10 minutes and 10-30 minutes. At least two of the key creatives (writer/director/producer/filmmaker) must reside in a regional area in Australia as defined here
Film submissions open July 1 with early bird July 17 and the final deadline of July 31.
The major prize will be $1000 for best film with a range of other prizes for different categories, including best director, best use of a regional setting, best youth film and a Diversity Award.
