Combine with survey comments from NSW Public Library statistics and MidCoast Libraries customer satisfaction survey results from 2019, and it's obvious the community values and appreciates services offered by local libraries.
With an average rating of 4.38 out of five, a 97 per cent satisfaction rating and the top source of satisfaction from Mid Coast residents, libraries staff are thrilled with the feedback.
"We're delighted with these results and it really cements our collective passion for what we do and how we enhance our community," MidCoast Libraries manager, Chris Jones said.
"Our team always works hard to continue to deliver above and beyond what's expected of them, their service and professionalism is second to none and we love that we're such an important part of our region."
It's fantastic to see so many people enjoying our libraries.
- Chris Jones
Compared with State results, MidCoast Council Libraries deliver well above the NSW average when it comes to the circulation per capita, turnover of stock and circulation per staff member, showing how actively the Mid Coast community uses the service and how busy the staff are.
In 2018-19 sites received 387,253 visits; an astounding figure considering the Mid Coast region has 94,000 residents.
"It's fantastic to see so many people enjoying our libraries, these are places that really enhance our community and while we know how busy we are, the figures are still really impressive."
But Mr Jones and his team are always keen to continue to offer more and are committed to listening to the feedback and implementing the community's suggestions where they can.
"All aspects of the service were rated 80 per cent or higher which in wonderful.
"There's always areas we can improve on and we're taking it all on board, from suggestions to upgrade aged furniture, to longer opening hours and more parking, this is all noted and will be considered in the future."
