The intention of the gallery is to support local creative ventures, offer an affordable space for visual artists working in all media, and build community by running events featuring local performers and musicians.
Situated in the rear of Delinquent Funk Vintage (est 2013), DFunk Gallery will open with a retrospective show of works by owner and artist, Sue Reynolds from July 1-15 with an opening on Friday July 3 from 5-8pm. All community members are welcome to attend the opening.
Sue Reynolds has an extensive background in visual arts education and public programs. She is also a practising artist who has exhibited in more than 30 shows. Sue says her vision for DFunk is to foster a welcoming creative venue where people can meet, participate in and support the arts.
The DFunk Gallery space can accommodate both solo and group exhibitions.
"The DFunk Gallery space can accommodate both solo and group exhibitions," Sue said.
"It's accessible, affordable, expands your exposure, connects you to other artists and audiences in the region and showcases your work - not only for a broader audience but also for sales," said Sue.
The exhibition space is open to the public from Wednesday to Saturday, 10am - 2pm.
