He said the world perfectly explains what's happened in the world this year.
However, he hopes this weekend, when Football Mid North Coast's various competitions make a belated start to the season, will be the first step to a return to something like normality.
Mr Parsons conceded there were times during the lockdown that he wondered if there'd be any sport played anywhere this year. He fully realises that there are those who have no wish to play.
However, during an interview with Manning River Times sports writer Mick McDonald, Mr Parsons praised the efforts of the Football Mid North Coast staff in getting the various competitions underway.
Now he's looking forward to seeing some football.
