A learner driver has been issued with multiple infringement notices after being pulled over by police on the Pacific Highway, Nabiac on the evening of Saturday, June 27.
The officers from the Forster Highway Patrol were parked when they clocked the northbound VW Polo travelling at 170 km/h in a 100 km/h speed zone.
The driver seemed to be oblivious to the police vehicle, continuing to travel in the right-hand lane.
Police eventually managed to signal to the 19-year-old woman to stop.
The teenage learner driver did not have a licensed driver beside her and was not displaying L plates as required.
She was issued with a licence suspension notice for six months, infringement notices for learner exceed speed over 45 km/h, unaccompanied learner, not display L plates and not keep left with speed limit over 80 km/h.
Earlier in the day highway patrol officers detected a northbound vehicle travelling along the Pacific Highway at Coolongolook at 154 km/h in a 100 km/h speed zone.
The 33-year-old man was issued with a traffic infringement notice for exceeding the speed limit by more than 45km/h and his licence was suspended for six months.
About 10.45pm that night, a Subaru Forrester was detected travelling at 98 km/h in a 60 km/h zone on Failford Road, Failford.
The 19-year-old driver presented a provisional licence after he was stopped by police.
He was issued an infringement notice for exceeding the the speed limit over 45 km/h. His licence was also suspended for three months.
About 5.45pm on Sunday, June 28, a Ford Focus was detected travelling at 129 km/h in a 100 km/h zone on the Pacific Highway at Coolongolook.
Officers stopped the vehicle, which had four passengers, and the 36-year-old driver presented a P1 licence.
He was issued infringement notices for exceeding the speed limit for a P1 driver over 30 km/h, not complying with P1 passenger restrictions after disqualification, not complying with P1 licence conditions and not displaying P plates.
His licence was suspended for six months.
