A contractor is set to visit the Lansdowne and Cundletown sports fields in the next week to adjust and focus the lights prior to their commissioning.
"The lighting will make a big difference for the teams that train on these grounds, allowing training to continue past the early sunset that occurs on winter afternoons," said MidCoast Council's manager of Community Spaces, Recreation and Trades, Dan Aldridge.
"In addition there's now possibility for evening use of the grounds, which will benefit local sports in many ways - allowing for uses such as catch-up games and new competitions."
The Aub Ferris Sports Complex at Nabiac now has a renovated clubhouse, which will also be complete and fully operational this week (week starting June 29).
Home to the Wallamba Bulls Rugby Union Club and the Wallamba Soccer Club, the ground is well used during winter months.
"The clubhouse rebuild includes a brand new canteen and change room with shower facilities, along with a meeting room," said Mr Aldridge.
A verandah also provides an undercover viewing area, providing extra comfort for sportsground users.
The projects were completed thanks to funding of $656,378 from the NSW Government's Stronger Country Communities Fund, $24,900 from Cundletown Soccer Club and a $60,000 Council contribution towards the Aub Ferris Clubhouse project.
