There are three webinar videos on the business help hub at shopmidcoast.com.au, and they are accessible 24/7 to any Mid Coast business. Each presentation takes around 60 minutes, and covers the basics of social media for businesses, how to use hashtags and building and engaging with audiences.
"Mid Coast businesses are working hard to recover after drought, bushfire and pandemic impacts, and with around half of Mid Coast residents using social media, it's a vital way to tap into the local market and boost business," MidCoast Council's manager of growth, economic development and tourism, Deb Tuckerman said.
"Local businesses are adopting new ways of doing business as they emerge strongly from the COVID-19 restrictions - and finding new ways to maximise their social media presence. Many are included on the #ShopMidCoast business directory, so that residents can ShopMidCoast when they are online.
"We're continuing to support with our business liaison service, which provides telephone or email advice to any Mid Coast business, as you navigate operating under restrictions. Our advisers bring a local perspective, and can help refer you to further assistance that may assist you."
Council has also established VendorPanel, making it easier for local businesses to register for free and find opportunities to do business with council.
The ShopMidCoast website was launched to provide immediate support for Mid Coast businesses during the COVID-19 lockdown.
"We'd also like to thank our Mid Coast community, who are supporting local business wherever they can, to protect our regional economy and support local jobs," Ms Tuckerman said.
