About 11am on Monday, June 15, detectives attached to Lake Macquarie Police District attended a facility at Silverwater and arrested a 62-year-old man.
This followed extensive inquiries that began in January 2020. Detectives established Strike Force Glenwarrie to investigate allegations of historic sexual and indecent assault offences against two boys in the 1990s.
The man was charged with 15 offences including five counts of aggravated indecent assault on a victim under the age of 16, committing an act of indecency with a person under 16, aggravated indecency with a victim under 16 and under authority offender, five counts of aggravated sexual assault of a victim under 16 and three counts of causing a child under 14 to participate in child prostitution.
Police allege the man sexually and indecently assaulted the boys, who were known to him, on separate occasions at Mid North Coast and Lake Macquarie locations.
He was refused bail and will appear at Newcastle Local Court via audio video link on Tuesday, June 16.
Investigations will continue.
