A spokesperson for Hunter New England Local Health District has confirmed that 30 of the 39 total cases of COVID-19 across the Mid Coast local government area have recovered.

The NSW Health COVID-19 Heat Map, which shows cases by postcode, currently lists five active cases in the 2430 postcode, and two in the 2428 postcode.
It is believed a 76-year-old male, who passed away in Westmead Hospital on April 4 after contracting the virus on the Ruby Princess, is the only Mid Coast resident to have died from the virus.
Across NSW, 2631 of the 3081 total cases have recovered.

The promising recovery figures, combined with a significant reduction in new cases, has led the NSW Government to once again give the green light to recreational travel within the State from June 1.
While the easing of restrictions remains a concern for some, Hunter New England Local Health District health physician, Dr David Durrheim, said in early May that it would be necessary to ease restrictions to see how the virus responded.
"It's an opportunity for us to see what happens," he said.
