The scholarships support apprentices who are experiencing financial or personal hardship, demonstrate a high aptitude for vocational education and are committed to their on and off the job training.
Member for Myall Lakes Stephen Bromhead said up to 95 scholarships will be awarded across NSW.
"An apprenticeship is a great way to kick-start a career, and apprentices are vital to our State's growth, but we also understand it's not always easy to complete a qualification," Mr Bromhead said.
Skills and Tertiary Education Minister Geoff Lee said apprentices are vital to driving NSW forward in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
"We want to back our apprentices by giving them a helping hand to complete their training and gain a qualification so they can make a strong contribution in their jobs and in the lives of their families and communities," Mr Lee said.
"The response to the COVID-19 pandemic has meant many industries are experiencing a pause, so this scholarship could not have come at a better time."
The scholarship program is named in honour of Bert Evans AO, who for more than 30 years was a passionate advocate for vocational education.
