Fresh local music on our Facebook
Every week day on our Facebook page we're adding new videos of musos performing an original song that they've written. Many of the submissions have been from locals, but we're keen to hear from musicians everywhere, so do share the post detailing how to get your music onto our page for a wider audience. Have a listen to the tremendous songs already posted, and give the artists encouragement with some likes and shares. We've dubbed it Covid Conquistadors, as we know we'll conquer this pandemic one song at a time, and these artists are cultural warriors in the fight against boredom and ennui.

Supporting arts workers
The arts sector has been severely affected during this global pandemic, and Australian artists, arts workers and arts organisations are desperate for more access to news and government support. One organisation that has been providing good information is Artshub, which has detailed updates on available grants by state and artform. Another useful arts site to connect with online is Arts Mid North Coast where you'll find links to online events, exhibitions and classes, as well as some good practical information for surviving the shut-down and using your talents creatively during this time.
Taree Arts Council says Arrivederci to Mamma Mia (but not goodbye forever)
Taree Arts Council has made the sad decision to postpone its prospective blockbuster "Mamma Mia" which was due to play in November this year (director Gayle Cameron, pictured). They decided the risks to a rehearsing cast and crew were simply too great, and considering casting would need to take place very soon to get the show on the road this year, the decision needed to be made now. All is not lost however as it will return next year, so in many respects it's a simple Au Revoir and definitely not a final goodbye. If anything, the crowds will be hungrier than ever for another great production from that astonishingly talented bunch. We'll keep you posted with news of when the Mamma Mia wheels start turning again, and in the meantime I urge you to visit the TAC Facebook page and read the very funny and clever post announcing the postponement, referencing various ABBA hits along the way thanks to their in-house sagacious scribe Dave Saville.
