Recently my father had a serious medical episode (not coronavirus) which saw him hospitalised for 10 days.
This event required that his family had to take a more active role in his care, and as such has highlighted what an incredibly compassionate, caring and helpful community the people of Wingham and Taree are.
Although a challenging period it was just fantastic to see how regional towns still function based on goodwill and humanity.
Absolutely every individual and organisation that we came in contact with was a pleasure to deal with and provided us with a friendly smile and a supportive 'can do' attitude.
This included the staff at Taree Lowes, the staff from Garden Grub and Bent on Food for keeping us fed and coffeed up and the team at Taree tip for meeting us with a smile every time we turned up with another trailer load.
Most importantly I wanted to pass on my thanks to:
The ambulance and emergency services teams that attended to my father and saved his life,
The incredibly patient, expert and caring staff at Manning Hospital (Emergency, Acute Care, Discharge and Mental Health)
The incredibly kind and helpful staff at Taree NAB and Wingham CBA
The staff at Lauders, Manning Valley Legal and Wingham Optometrists.
Thank you Taree and Wingham for your old fashioned care and support. You should all feel very proud of your community.
