We were understandably devastated by the news we were about to lose our only son and the pain was overpowering.
We spent as much time with him during his final hours and thankfully he passed peacefully without pain.
My purpose in writing is not to seek sympathy, merely to make the general public aware of the magnificent staff working in palliative care at the Manning Hospital.
The staff showed our son the most incredible care, compassion and empathy, it was truly humbling to watch.
They also gave us great support in our hour of need.
They were willing to pat a shoulder or rub an arm, give hugs to let us know they were with us on the journey.
Word cannot express our deep gratitude to all the staff too many to mention individually. Suffice to say we are eternally grateful for the care shown to us in this period of intense pain and loss.
Thank you, you are all angels.
