The 2020 captains for six schools in the Manning were presented with plaques at the February 26 ordinary MidCoast Council meeting in Taree.

MidCoast Council mayor David West presented the plaques to Chatham High School's William Sawyer and Veronica Rosellas, Taree High School's Samuel Moss and Kalani Cross, Wingham High School's Dimity Bartlett and Billy Callaghan, St Clares High School's Grace McCallum and Zain Saeed, Taree Christian College's Mollie Fitzgerald and Jack Summerhill and Manning Valley Anglican College's Timothy Walker and Tegan Hinshelwood.
Mayor West said it was an honour to present the plaques to the school leaders.
"This crop of young people is a reflection of the school system," he said proudly.
Captains from Great Lakes and Gloucester high schools will receive plaques in the near future.
