Old Bar photographer Chris Flynn got a surprise this morning, February 14, when he walked down the beach for a swim and found foam piled close to five feet high on the beach.
After returning home to retrieve his camera, he walked into the frothy stuff to snap off a couple of shots.
"I've never seen anything like it," Mr Flynn said.
"The wind would just pick it up and throw it around."
Of the selfie Mr Flynn snapped, he said while it looked like he was wading in the water, it wasn't actually the case.
"I'm actually standing on the beach," he said.
"There's no water."
He thought the image he took of the Taree Old Bar Surf Club was probably a perspective not many people had seen before.
Similarly large amounts of foam were evident on beaches at Red Head and Forster Main Beach earlier in the week, following last weekend's large seas and heavy rain.
