Junior rowers Hannah Smith, 14, and Mali Hoadley, 15, finished sixth in the state finals in the under 16s girls double scull.
This placed the duo third out of the NSW crews, with the other three crews coming from interstate.
This was only their second regatta racing together and Mali, who is new to rowing this year, had only participated in two regattas prior to the championships.
Josiah Smith and Jude McDermott also qualified for the finals in the under 19s men double sculls but the finals were cancelled due to poor weather conditions.
Josiah is well placed for a strong year after taking out the under 17 Central Districts Rowing Association champion in 2019. He also participated in the 2019 NSW championships as a member of the CDRA team.
Jude, meanwhile, plans to continue rowing at Sydney University where he will be a student in 2020.
