"When the Wallamba Bulls played away to Old Bar Clams last year, because of injury, and unavailability, we only had 12 fit players.
"Old Bar had a rough year last year and were desperate for a win and this day they had plenty of players and could have easily played a full side with subs, and probably would have got their first win.
"But Teia sought me out and said, 'mate no worries, we will play with 12 as well.'
"I'll never forget what a sporting gesture that was. They lost that game, but Teia won me over that day as a great rugby man, with the wonderful spirit of country footy. Looking forward to playing you again this year mate. On behalf of the Bulls, well done Teia."
The Lower Mid North Coast Rugby Union season resumes on April 4.
