The proceeds of the Rotary Club of Taree annual charity ambrose golf day are expected to be more than $9000 and will be going to three local charities, Westpac Helicopter Rescue Services, the children's ward of the Manning Hospital and the Australian Children's Music Foundation.
As well as a number of prizes there was a hole in one competition on the 16th hole, the prize being a Ford Endura Diesel motor vehicle supplied by Mid Coast Automotive Group. However no golfer was able to score a hole in one.
One golfer won a consolation prize of new putter donated by Manning River Steel for nearest the pin on this hole.
Golfers remarked that Taree golf course was in good condition having received some rain recently which greened up the grass and softened the fairways.

Held on Australia Day at Taree Golf Club, teams of four competed for a number of prizes. Overall winners were Josh Meldrum, Todd Kennewell, Tim Magin and Peter Kennewell. The top five teams won prizes with scores that were equal to the usual expected on these days with the range being from 54 to 56 nett.
The 'hole in one' competition on 16th hole, the prize being a Ford Endura diesel motor vehicle supplied by Mid Coast Automotive Group, was not won.
