A free workshop to teach participants how to be green when they clean will be held at Wingham Library.
The eco-cleaning workshop, on Thursday, February 6 between 10.30am and noon, will demonstrate how to make safe, environmentally friendly and effective home cleaning products.
"We'll be showing participants how to use a range of natural and easily accessible ingredients like lemons, tea tree oil, vinegar and baking soda to make essential home cleaning products like shower and toilet cleaner," Amy Hill, MidCoast Council's waste program coordinator said.
"Making these changes to your cleaning routine is not only better for the environment, it means you're not exposing yourself, your family and your pets to harsh chemicals around the house."
Home-made cleaning products are also friendlier on the household budget, and reduce the amount of plastic packaging that ends up in our waste stream.

The free workshop is presented in partnership with MidWaste Regional Waste Forum.
