I would like to publicly thank two boys who came to my aid on Tuesday, January 21.

This is a distraction from the news of fires and storms.
I am 77 years old and can't walk, also I have Parkinsons. I was coming back to Bligh Street across the oval from the Taree swim centre.
I was riding on my mobility scooter when it suddenly broke down in the middle of the oval. It was very hot and I was getting worried about how I could get home when the young boys came by on their bikes.
They stayed with me until help came in the form of another kind man named Dwayne, who then pushed me and the scooter about 100+ metres to a waiting car. No mean feat as I am about 85kgs and the scooter is about 60kg!
Also thanks to the ambos who turned up to help me and with a cold bottle of water.
So I got home to Karingal Gardens in one piece thanks to their kindness.
I didn't get the boys' names in all the confusion but I would like to give them a reward if they could contact me on my mobile number.
Young people get a lot of bad publicity but here was an example they and their parents can be proud of. Thank you.
