Meetings will be held on Wednesday afternoons.
Greyhound Racing NSW this week gave approval for Taree to host the meetings. This is the biggest news in the club's history that stretches back more than 60 years.
Taree has never conducted a TAB meeting.
It is also just four years since NSW Premier Mike Baird announced greyhound racing would be banned in NSW. This decision was later overturned.
Taree Greyhound Club vice president Sharon Grey said the process started about six months ago and the club's committee, led by president Des McGeachie, has meet with Greyhound Racing NSW board members on numerous occasions since. This included an inspection of the facilities at Kanangra Drive with representatives from Sky Channel.
Work will start soon on upgrading the track to TAB standard.
"When all requirements are met, Taree will host TAB race meetings on Wednesday afternoons, with these slots expected to nicely complement the club's very successful Easter Carnival,'' a spokesman for Greyhound Racing NSW said.
"Part of the GRNSW Strategic Plan released in 2018 is that all participants should have access to TAB racing, and the Mid North Coast has been one region where it was lacking, but the matter will soon be remedied.''
Ms Grey said Greyhound Racing NSW officials were impressed with the standard of facilities at Kanangra Drive.
"There's not much work that needs to be done,'' she said. "Nothing that can't be achieved anyway.''
The club has access to bore water so the track-proper has withstood the ravages of the drought.
"Des (McGreachie) is also our curator and he has the track in unbelievable condition,'' Mrs Grey said.
Taree currently has 18 race dates a year. Thirteen of these will now revert to Wednesday afternoons.
Ms Grey explained the five non-TABers will now be included in the club's Easter Carnival.
The club usually conducts 11 races per meeting but Ms Grey said there is kennel space for 12 races.
"Unlike some other clubs we always have enough nominations for our meetings,'' she explained.
"We'll be getting trainers coming here now from Grafton to Sydney and out to Tamworth; it's going to be a big thing for our town.''

Ms Grey revealed that Greyhound NSW organised for its TAB meetings to be live streamed to 44 countries and this is expected to start soon. Taree will be part of this.
She said the the Mike Baird ban is still impacting on the industry throughout the State.
"The breeding numbers are down,'' she said.
"It's been a struggle for a lot of trainers. But I'm confident Greyhound Racing NSW is going in the right direction.
"This is huge news for our club.''
