With more than 30 years as an ambassador, Matthew was able to recount a number of interesting anecdotes.
During his years of service Matthew had been an Ambassador to USA, Chile, South Africa, France and Israel, to name a few.
On one occasion he entertained former Prime Minister Bob Hawke in Geneva.
