So what delights will you find inside? Whether it be stand-up, rhythm and blues, soul, musical theatre, classical guitar, tenors, vibrant children's theatre, film or laugh out loud Australian iconic comedic theatre, you'll find something to tickle your fancy.
The year kicks off with "Songs in the Key of Motown" with the hits of the USA's hottest 20th Century label in a show direct from sell out seasons in Vegas.
Kate Darnell's show "the Healing Trilogy" is a celebration of her three self-help books and she's about helping you reach your full potential.
Perhaps you're simply after an afternoon listening to one of the world's greatest tenor voices, and that's where Mark Vincent comes in. Mark returns to the MEC with his wonderful new show "A Tribute to Mario Lanza".
In March Baby Boomers are going to love "Rockin' through the Ages" - a show packed with the media memories and music of their heyday.
In April we're presenting the multi-award winning musical play "The Sapphires" that inspired the film, and traces the true life journey of four Yorta Yorta women who sang classic soul hits against the backdrop of the Vietnam war. The Cat in the Hat is back, and it's right in time for an Easter treat for the whole family. For lovers of guitar we have a very special concert with not one, but TWO Grigoyan brothers set to enrapture lucky patrons in "Past, Present and Future" with Slava and Leonard Grigoryan.
There's more for kids with "The Box Show" from Junkyard Beats who use ordinary household objects to create extraordinary musical instruments. The annual Melbourne Comedy Festival Roadshow returning yet again to tickle the funny bones of punters all over the country.
"Mother and Son" creator Geoffrey Atherden resurrects the endearingly infuriating Maggie Beare and her hapless son Arthur in a brilliant new play touring the country in July. Starring Julie McGregor and Christopher Truswell it's definitely not to be missed, and sure to sell out.
We warmly invite you to join us at the MEC for these shows and more. Performances are being added all the time, so stay up to date by visiting theMEC.com.au or checking our facebook page. Here's to a wonderful year of entertainment - see you at the MEC!
