About noon on Friday, January 10, police saw a white Range Rover driving along Manning Street, Tuncurry.
Police stopped the vehicle and inquired with the occupants. The vehicle was searched and a backpack belonging to a 38-year-old Marks Point man was located.
Inside the backpack was a large knife in a sheath, a baseball bat, a number of tablets and towels. The man said the knife and bat were for protection, admitted to owning the tablets and stated the towels were from a Tuncurry motel.
A further search of the vehicle located bags belonging to a 21-year-old Maryland man. Police uncovered about half a gram of cannabis and a replica glock pistol.
Both men were charged with possessing the items and will face court on February 12.
Police then spoke with a 26-year-old Windale woman, who admitted ownership of the car. Several items of clothing and handbags were located in the car that still had price tags attached.
The woman said they were purchased earlier in the day but was unable to produce receipts. A large sum of money was found in the woman's handbag as well as wrapped in foil in a dog food bag.
Another search of the car located plastic resealable bags containing methylamphetamine and tablets believed to be MDMA.
The woman was charged with possessing the items and refused bail to appear in court on January 28.
